Kramer Striker 100ST  (1987)

My first electric guitar, bought in 1987 when I joined our school band... I didn't know much about electric guitars back then so I read a few reviews first and went to Frankfurt's coolest shop, Mr. Bassman / Pickup Music (sad to say that they shut down in 2001...). After hours of testing and too much coffee I had it narrowed down to this Striker, a Hohner L-59 (very good Paula copy) and a Washburn Strat. Being a 15-year old student I couldn't spend much money and, being a big Van Halen fan, I decided to buy the Striker which was on a sale due to low dollar rates.

It is a japan-made Striker 100ST by Kramer". Later there was a series of Kramer Striker guitars with a Floyd-Rose-II trem and a pointy headstock. Basically they were cheaper versions of the american-made Baretta and Pacer models.

Until today this might be my guitar with the most playing hours. I practiced very long hours back then and it was my only guitar for about 4 years until I bought  the Ibanez Saber. I am pretty sure that I will never sell it which is an emotional thing. Plus, the market value is just too low to let it go. The playability still rivals many more expensive guitars but it just lacks tone. But hey, I had a lot of fun with it and the value for money was good.
